Egyptian ICT Market
The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada in partnership with the ISCM invites you to a meeting with members of the Egyptian Information Telecommunication Electronic Software Alliance (EITESAL) to discuss the Egyptian ICT market and opportunities for partnerships between Canadian and Egyptian companies. This visit is in follow on to a Memorandum of Understanding between ITAC and EITESAL on partnerships for trade and investment between Canada and Egypt.
We invite interested ICT companies to register for this meeting on November 12th in Markham.
MARKET SUMMARY:
The Egyptian ICT sector has achieved remarkable progress in the last 4 years due to a series of effective reforms. Today with the economic crunch, the sector continues to demonstrate success and has achieved a 14.6%.growth and contributes by 3.4% to the country’s GDP. Egypt's current overall economy is still growing at 4.5% (fiscal year until August 09). A quick overview of the sector’s indicators will demonstrate a horizontal growth in all facets of the industry with the most promising sub-sector being the Mobile industry and call centers. The current environment in Egypt offers a distinctive business destination for Canadian companies it offers a wide array business opportunities supply of resources at competitive cost, linguistic skills, good relationships and cultural fit with Western European and North American countries and a hub to Africa and the MENA region.
